Design Consultations

Consultations are an hourly service great for those looking for guidance but not in need of full design services. We’ll start with a 30 minute introductory phone call to discuss scope of your design needs followed by an on-site walk-through meeting that will be included in a flat fee. Of course, if your needs extend past this time, we can add on at an hourly fee. During our time together, I’ll discuss quick fixes, easy to implement ideas, and solutions to your design dilemmas. Afterwards, I’ll follow up with a written recap so you get a road map to refer to allowing you to implement the ideas at your own pace. Furnishings and other products will be from retailers you can buy from directly. Come back to me whenever you need to for an hourly rate so you can tailor our time together as needed. If a more comprehensive project surfaces, don’t worry! We can step up to the next level of services.

Perfect for:

  • Bouncing an idea off a design professional - You have minor design dilemmas but you’re not ready to engage in a full project. We can discuss these in shorter consultations as needed. Ever ask some of these questions? “Does this art fit here?”/ “What size rug makes sense here?”/ “Why does this room feel OFF?”
  • Furniture layout issues - “Quick fixes” to flow, scale and proportion issues in your room. I will be completely honest with you if your design dilemma is a bit more complicated than moving a few pieces around.
  • Paint consultations - You want anything but pink for your baby girl’s room but you’re not sure what color to pick. Paint sections at the hardware store are overwhelming…I can help narrow down the options and give you ideas for color schemes that flow throughout your space. You need an accent color but do not (I repeat, do not) want red? I can give you other options.
  • Accessorizing – This typically translates to accessory editing! It can also be a fun way to freshen up your space for a party you’re hosting and be applied to table décor. Your bookcase can be brought to life with a combination of different accessories as well.
  • Staging ideas - I utilize existing furniture whenever possible. Additionally, I will incorporate room editing with other easy-to-manage options to keep it as stress free as possible.
  • Shopping Trips - OK, I like to call these Field Trips because they are fun! If you get overwhelmed at when shopping and need someone to weed out the options for you, this is a perfect option. We can go together with a punch list of what’s needed.
  • Voice of Reason - You LIVE off Pinterest and can get lost for days pinning your dream rooms. Now you can’t decide which direction to go in because you have 1000 bedrooms. I can help decipher the look you are trying to achieve and narrow down the options for what can work in your home.

Interior Design Services - per room or full service

Hue’s Interior Design Services will start off with a 30 minute introductory phone call to get an understanding of the scope of your project. Next, we will meet for an in-home consultation to discuss design needs, initial goals and preliminary budgets. This will last for 1 to 1 ½ hours typically. Questions about the design process, contracts, timing and more will be discussed.

Mood boards, floor plans and other visual aides will be used after hiring Hue Designs to showcase the design direction. Custom pieces are possible and we will discuss your options so the finished project aligns perfectly with your initial goals and budget. Sourcing, ordering, and project management will be incorporated into a design fee per room or per project depending on the scope of your needs.

Perfect for:

  • New Home Owners - You have just moved into your home and your old furniture just won’t work. You don’t want to completely start from scratch but you’re not sure what will stay. It’s overwhelming but I can help design your home for the seamless look and feel you’re aiming for.
  • Mixing Design Esthetics - As a couple you have different likes and dislikes. That’s normal! But it’s hard to mix design styles without some help. I can interpret your different likes/dislikes and provide a harmonious infusion of both personalities.
  • Pace Yourself - Allows for more rooms to be designed at a later date without feeling overwhelmed but still achieve a seamless look throughout your house. We can work off of your short-term and long-term goals.
  • Design Intermediary - You have hired a contractor or builder but you’re not sure what you’re going to do inside once the framework is completed. Don’t worry, I can assist with the design-speak! I’ll work with your team to ensure we take your project in the direction you want with material selection, customization options, attention on flow, function and form, and more.
  • Custom Pieces – I love, love, love customizing pieces for a project. My trade only options provide a special touch whether it’s access to unique fabrics, talented artisans, unique lighting design, or custom sized furniture for difficult spots. You can have custom tinted floor stain, hand forged stair railings, hand-made hardware, custom-made window treatments, bedding, furniture, art, lighting, rugs, tile pattern…you name it!
  • Whole floor/Whole house Design - This is the right service for you to ensure all your priorities are addressed and the smallest details are included in the scheme.
  • Full Remodel - Often contractors or builders don’t focus on the same details a designer will focus on (placement of the switches so you don’t have too many visual breaks in a wall for example). It’s important to bring in a designer early on to coordinate particular elements that will affect furniture placement, lighting placement etc.
